Tanzhexen Gothic tribal troupe will be joining us for a couple of live performances. Here is some more information about this style of dance.

Gothic tribal fusion bellydance is a blend of tribal style bellydance – itself a fusion of Egyptian, Turkish, Gypsy, North African, Flamenco and Indian Classical styles – with dark elements of the gothic subculture.
Gothic tribal fusion also borrows from tribal fusion style which is a blend of tribal bellydance and contemporary urban dance forms, however the principles of urban dance are expressed differently by gothic performers.

Gothic fusion dancers take these principles and use them to create a range of moves from liquid, flowing eerie movement to sharp, mechanical insect-like movement. Each gothic tribal fusion bellydance performer creates their own individual fusion style, reflecting their own character and personality in their performance.

We also have a UK exclusive album release party from Germany’s rising stars Traumtaenzer’s stunning new album “Der weisse Raum” with copies to be won!!

Traumtaenzer was founded in May 2008 by Tom O..Connell (former member of Garden of Delight). There was only one condition for Tom O..Connell … Traumtaenzer should possess danceable and atmospheric sounds with sophisticated German lyrics. Quickly, Tom O..Connell found an appropriate male voice. Marco B. who had played together with Tom O..Connell in the band Downscarred, was intrigued with the idea. So, the project Traumtaenzer became a great passion.

The first track “Für die Nacht“ was produced at Tom O..Connell’s Sattva Studio and was followed by many more. Several guest musicians rounded off the album “Der weisse Raum” by means of female and classic sounds. Since 2010, Sandra S. (former member of Le Cri Du Mort) and Eva P. (former member of Anubiz and Unrein) have been supporting Traumtaenzer. Eva’s wonderful voice adds to the songs tremendously, and Sandra knows how to put her own stamp on the Traumtaenzer sound with her violin.

The recording was followed by concerts a. o. with Leichenwetter, Ally the Fiddle, Scherbenpalast, In Viro, Lord of the Lost, UNHEILIG, Oomph, Lacrimas Profundere, Subway to Sally, Saltatio Mortis, etc. Rocking, powerful but also danceable songs are very typical of Traumtaenzer as well as pensive, soothing tracks being specifically dominated by strings which provide the songs with a classic note.

Another evidence of Traumtaenzer’s versatility are the remixes done for bands like De/ Vision, The House of Usher, Root 4 and Dark Instance. You should experience live on their autumn tour by all means.
